Morley Newlands Academy, (formally Morley Newlands Primary School) joined The GORSE Academies Trust on 1 March 2015 and has quickly formed a close partnership with our primary and secondary academy colleagues within the Trust, building capacity and supporting us on our journey of relentless improvement towards becoming an Outstanding academy.
Morley Newlands is situated in South Leeds. Our children bring a range of experiences; they are eager to learn and a delight to be with. We are a growing three form entry school. Within the next 4 years, we will be one of the largest primary schools within the Yorkshire and Humber region. In September 2015, we will have as many as 650 pupils on roll; our Foundation Stage is popular and numbers are at capacity.
In September 2014 we moved from an old, run down school building to new state of the art accommodation, with excellent facilities to support our children, their families and the local community of which we strive to be at the heart.
ambitious and relentless in our determination to be judged OutstandingThe school was last inspected in November 2012 and judged to be Good. However, all of us at the academy and within the Trust are ambitious and relentless in our determination to be judged Outstanding in all areas. Since becoming part of the GORSE family, our transition work has become exceptional; our secondary Advanced Skills Teacher colleagues are already established at Morley Newlands, working with our children and staff, supporting high standards and engagement across the curriculum, improving practice and bringing the joy and fun back into learning.
Under the exceptional and proven leadership of Simon McCarthy and in line with the vision set out by Sir John Townsley to provide a world class education for all children, especially the most disadvantaged in the city we are determined to achieve our goal.
